Oaty Biscuits

Quick and easy biscuits to make. These biscuits have a nice chewy texture and keep well in an airtight container for several days.

  • 6oz butter
  • 2 tbsp syrup
  • 6oz self raising flour
  • 6oz sugar
  • 6oz oats
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tbsp milk


  1. Put the flour, sugar, oats and salt into a large bowl. Melt the butter and syrup in a pan. Mix the bicarbonate of soda with the milk and add to the pan and then pour this mixture into the dry ingredients.

  2. Take spoonfuls of the mixture, roll into balls and place on a baking tray leaving enough room for the biscuits to spread. Bake at gas mark 5 for 10 to 15 minutes.
